Targeted Gun Law Campaigns
Type of Strategy:
Gun violence prevention area(s):

Targeted gun law campaigns aim to reduce illicit access to firearms by informing gun owners about local regulations surrounding gun ownership. In many of these campaigns, law enforcement agencies mail a letter outlining regulations and laws surrounding gun ownership to residents who have purchased a gun. To be the most effective, and to reduce potential harms, this approach should be developed with and tailored to the community where it will be implemented.
